The "Rua Al Madinah Project" (Vision of Al Madinah) has been initiated by the Saudi Crown Prince to enhance the capacity for accommodating 30 million Umrah pilgrims. The vision awarded contracts worth $1.4 billion for Madinah development project, a massive development close to the Prophet’s Mosque comprising hotels and other infrastructure. The construction project is part of development efforts by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in line with the kingdom's Vision 2030. By renovating 1.5 million square meters, the project aims to incorporate more than 47,000 hotel rooms by 2030. Its focus is on elevating Madinah to a modern Islamic and cultural destination.
